We began this day's journey by train at Latacunga Train station.
Our first stop was a rose plantation and processing facility.
They had many certifications which can be seen in these pictures. The facility was clean and organized. The tour guide told us that is was a good job for the workers. Women are used to pack the roses because they are more gentle.
There were row after row of roses. They are grown in green houses like in the pictures to control the climate and pests.
This rose smelled very good. Some had less smell than others. It even seemed to me as though smell varied between blooms of the same variety. I smelled a lot of roses on this day.
