December 19 the market at Guamote to Eterna Primavera

Next we arrived at the market at Guamote.  It is one of the last authentic markets in the Andes.  There were tourist goods, things for the home, clothing for the populace, livestock, food.  The meat market was especially pungent.  The people were so close to us and one another.  It was overwhelming and claustrophobic.

After viewing the market, we ate lunch at the train station and set out for the Devil's Nose.

After this town we went over a bridge.  After the train went over the bridge up popped some children who had been under the bridge when the train passed by.  You can see them in the following pictures.
Thanks to Hildegard and Heinzwilli for this exceptional shot of the children.

This night we stayed at Eterna Primavera lodge.

These are the upper rooms.  People who stayed in these rooms had no complaints.
These were the lower rooms.  We found them to be a little dirty.
This is the view from the edge of the yard.
